The location was lovely with a patio facing out to the water.
We walked into Chania along the beaches (about 5km). Easy access to bus which took us right into the town.
This apartment complex stands 2.8 mi from Chania city on a hillside overlooking the sea and Kalamaki beach, one of the most beautiful places on the island.

The staff at this hotel are among the most friendly and accommodating I have come across. The facilities are excellent plus the restaurant serves high quality, good value meals.
The hotel's location is superb being a 1 minute walk to a large sandy beach with sunbed's and shallow, clean waters.
In summary a highly recommended stay with convenient access to Chania town, a very local beach and super accommodation and staff.

Great choice...
Great choice... Manousos (key staff personnel) was very friendly and helpful... breakfast was exceptional... the view from the window/balcony in the morning was magnificent... spacious room and everything we needed was provided. Just the right distance from the old town and the nice beaches near Chania (like Elafonisi, Balos and Falasarna).

I think Kalamaki is for tourists who are a family.
I think Kalamaki is for tourists who are a family. Kalamaki is very closes to many beaches. which is great for children. You would need transport to get into the city centre if that is your thing.
For us, we wanted to rest and Kalamaki was perfect for that.Having said all of the above the public transport system is perfect and you can get to the city centre of Chania /Chanion relatively quickly.

Kalamaki is a nice resort on the outskirts of Chania.
Kalamaki is a nice resort on the outskirts of Chania. It has several beaches, restaurants, and shopping all within walking distance. You can reach Chania quickly and cheaply by bus or in the other direction, e.g. Agia Marina. The residents were all very nice and helpful. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back :)
Beautiful little gem of a find. Quaint small family run hotel. Good tasty food and lovely swimming pool area. Always loungers available. No one rushing to put towels out and disappear for the day! Comfortable beds, lovely sea and pool views, bus stop 100 mtrs away. Lovely little harbour and tiny church at end. Can hire self drive boats at the little harbour. Staff all lovely but big shout out to Raja(hope I spelled that correctly). Was lovely.
Private beach, pools, restaurant, sunset views and of course the amazing staff! Did extensive research (as there are many hotel options in Chania) before selecting this hotel for my first trip to Crete and it fully exceeded my expectations. Everything from the meals to the powerful shower to the comfortable bed was great and a big shout out to Ioannis (Yannis) as well.
We had a very enjoyable stay at the Doreen Hotel. Everything was fine and the host very nice and helpful. The room was nicely decorated and had a large balcony overlooking the sea. There were two steps to the nearest beach, a bus stop around the corner, shops and restaurants nearby. We had a wonderful time. I recommend this place. I hope I can go back there again.
President Suite has an awesome terrace. I got invited for breakfast when I arrived earlier! Very nice and professional owner! Beautiful stone floors in the Hotel. Close to perfect beaches. 15 up to 20Min walking. Good bed. Sea View. Good breakfast. Nice pool. The Hotel is as good as any 4 Star Hotel on Crete. Good value for money.
It was nostalgic to have a nice, affordable and clean room with a balcony after so many years away from southern Crete. However this time there was a mini fridge, coffee maker and air conditioning if it got too hot to sleep. The family run pension is friendly and hospitable. I even got a ride to my new destination. Thank you!
The best of Elia Kalamaki is their staff, specially in the reception with Eleni, Vicky and Theodora. They are always ready to help. The Cuban lady (sorry, I do not remember her name) in breakfast area was also very kind. Thanks a lot! The hotel is beautiful with good rooms, refreshing pool and nice location.
The hotel exceeded all my expectations. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the amenities provided were top-notch. I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great stay.
This was the perfect place for so beach time and was super close and easy to take a bus into Chania! If you want to rent a beach chair for the day that are right at the beach by the hotel. The owner is always available and helpful. We LOVED IT!
