It’s a small town that has the most amazing beaches. Has loads of tavernas to try different food every night. I love the fact it’s full of Greeks and not too many tourists for a more genuine experience

Lerapetra is not one of the main tourist destinations on Crete but well worth a visit.
There are more than enough restaurants and bars along the seafront, with a nice compact centre of town.
Only thing to note is that with the closure of Chrissi Island, there are effectively no tourist trips from Lerapetra. For this you would need to travel to the north side of the island.

The town is awful!
The town is awful!
Almost all the restaurants and cafeterias were closed.
We were looking for a park for our son to play and we only found one in the whole town. It was dirty, smelly and full of kids so my child could not play there.
Never coming back again!

Ierapetra -as a city- is not very beatiful, although the beach/port route is quite good.
However, it is the perfect place for visiting some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, including "Kakkos", "Psaropoula", "Agia Fotia", "Achlia", "Psari Forada" and others - since it is located in front of the Libyan Sea. You can also visit "Chryssi" - an worldwide known exotic island just near by, and at the same time you have access to extremely high quality (and low cost) food.

We stayed in Ierapetra for just 24 hours. We found that city was much developed, in a good meaning. Dedicated streets for pedestrians and bikes, updated sea walk area. Please visit "Casablanca" all day cafe-restaurant, with very good coffee (Fredo) and very tasty international and local dishes.

Authentic Greek town with really nice, friendly atmosphere where you can live and feel yourself a part of it.
Great eating out options, pastries, amazing shopping and welcoming, pleasant Greek people!
We had one of the best stays ever out of any trip here in Crete. The room was exceptionally clean and well designed, with high-end furnishings and fixtures. It looks so great! We took pictures to get some ideas for our own house. Everything was so clean and well-maintained. We just had to stay another day.
The whole property was exceptional. Great parking lot, the pool was very clean and the water was great. I had a chance to meet the owners and I would highly recommend this hotel or anyone looking for a nice relaxing stay in Crete.
The apartment is very spacious and well equipped to enjoy a holiday near the beach. It is a good base to discover the eastern part of Crete including Agios Nikolaos, Sitia and Vai as well as the Lasithi Plateau.
Parking is right in front of the property and off street.
We were arriving rather late from Iraklion on our first day but Emmanouela managed to get us some lovely food from a nearby taverna upon our arrival. Simply great!
Whenever we needed something, Emmanouela was there and had the right answer.
Mike is a super host. Panos (his uncle) welcomed us very warmly explaining everything regarding the city and the near spots. He was also very kind offering us some local wine and Cretan sweets. All locations suggested by them were wonderful to visit.
The house has everything needed for short and long journey. It is recently rebuilt and has new furniture and equipments.
The position is very central in the town having all the services and shops nearby.
Strongly recommended for visiting the area of Ierapetra.
This was our second time in the last 4 years staying at Tylissos Beach Hotel. Its hands down one of the best places to stay in Ierapetra. EVERYTHING is just a short walk away. The hotel staff is always amazing. The hotel has been beautifully updated since our last visit. The room is wonderfully comfortable with the most amazing shower. The bar/pool staff are great. Breakfast selection was as good as ever. I can't wait to come back next year!!!
Everyhting about this boutique hotel was exactly what we were looking for for some Autumn sunshine and to really disconnect and relax.
The pool areas are fantastic, the pool bar staff were great as we the cocktails and snack.
I recommend order all of the Sushi.
A special mention for Giannis who looked after us every morning at Breakfast. He was excellent, and a big reason why i we were to return to Crete we would stay at this hotel.
Very nice family owned property, with a beautiful garden. It is a small apartment perfect for 4, with a master bed and 2 beds for kifs, and a fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom was very nice. We also had barbecue one evening with the help of the owner who was very kind and prepared everything for us.
He also gave us fruits and the traditional welcoming raki. Very close to Ierapetra, the location was amazing, definitely worth it.
Stayed here and it was very nice choose. I have planned to propose to my girlfriend during our stay in Ierapetra, I contacted hotel to help me with the surprise and received a lot of support and professional service. They have great services, absolutely fab bungalow with sea front view, very attentive housekeeping and friendly receptionist. Everything went fine and I' be here soon again.
Everything was great! The location is very convenient with parking near by at the port, even in front of the apartment. The view is magnificent. Everything in the apartment is new and well decorated. You will find all you need to cook a meal and have breakfast. It was also very clean! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Big Blue!
Superbly located in the centre of Lerapetra and a short walk to the beach, Cretan Villa is your ideal base to explore the area. The host is convivial, helpful and efficient. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed comfy. Plenty of places nearby for breakfast and to sample Cretan and international cuisine. 5 stars.
Great location with a truly low price. All inclusive, with tasty food and amazing restaurant staff. I have enjoyed also Mini Club and Animation staff. The place was exceptional, with beautiful beach just a few step from our room. Our children (3 and 5 years) loved this holiday!
We really enjoyed staying at Callista. The house has everything you need for a comfortable family holiday, and the owner is very kind and hospitable. It’s conveniently located close to Ierapetra but in a quieter area, which we enjoyed.
Hotel has great location, 5 min walk to the center and seaside, 24 hour reception. Air condition and wifi works well. We arrived early and our room was ready which we hadn’t expected. Good Breakfast, the staff were very friendly.
The best from the hotel is the staff anf the service. The hotel instalations are great too. Great place for a relaxing vacation. The pool, the dj, outdoor cinema, and many more activities are great.
We have been all over greece and this resort is absolutely amazing and one if the best we have. The buffet has some of the best traditional greek food. the views are breathtaking. we will be back!
Amazing food. Very friendly staff. Ultimate hotel to go with with your kids. Beach + swimming pool next to each other. The swimming pool has water slides. What more do you want?
Situated near the sea, the hotel lies in the heart of Ierapetra. There are plenty of tavernas and bars within walking distance. Breakfast was provided in a charming setting!
