Location was perfect - city center, a lot of restaurants in surroundings, room was clean and silent, staff was very helpfull and friendly.

Each accommodation is elegantly decorated and includes tea-and-coffee making facilities, a minibar, and a balcony with sea views. All rooms have a seating area with a sofa. Absolutely amazing place. We took a room with a balcony facing the seaview and it was 100% worth its' price. It is the best place I've ever been to. People working in the hotel are very helpful and nice. We also received a lot of nice gifts: a bottle of wine, sweets and snacks in our room - all included. The breakfast is quite nice and there are plenty of sweet treats in it. We loved every bit of this place and definitely plan to come back

Theresa was such a brilliant hostess, she made it feel like home.Breakfast was just right to set you up for the day. The food in the evenings was beautifully prepared. I would definitely recommend Casa de Proteas for a beautiful and relaxing holiday destination.

The newly renovated 4-star Hotel Baía Azul is ideally situated a 4-minute walk from Funchal’s beachfront. It offers 3 swimming pools, 3 restaurants, a Spa and a sun deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the gardens. A nice and spacious room with a great view from the balcony! Massive breakfast too! Loved my stay here and would recommend to others! The staff were also friendly and accommodating!
